Summary of data we collect

HS Info is a static informational website. We do not require you to create an account, we do not sell products, and we do not accept payments through the site. That limits the personal data we handle to two sources: server logs kept by our hosting provider, and any information you voluntarily send us through the contact page. Nothing on the site tracks you across other websites.

We do not use behavioural advertising. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies. We do not embed third-party pixels, remarketing tags, or social-media widgets that read your data. Anonymous analytics may be used to understand aggregate traffic patterns, but any such analytics are configured to remove identifiers before storage.

Our processing of personal data is governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we process any personal data at all, our legal basis is either legitimate interest (for keeping server logs to defend against abuse of the site) or your consent (for information you voluntarily send through the contact form). We do not process special-category data and do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

The lawful basis for anonymous analytics is legitimate interest in understanding aggregate site usage, provided that the analytics tool does not create a personal profile of any individual visitor. Where any analytics tool is added in future that would create such a profile, we would move to a consent basis before enabling it.

Cookies used on this site

We describe the specific cookies used in our Cookies notice. The essential set is limited to session cookies required for the site to function. Non-essential cookies are not set without a consent action by you. Third-party cookies from analytics, advertising or social platforms are not used on this domain.

Your browser also allows you to review and delete cookies at any time. Doing so does not affect any personal data we may hold about you separately (via the contact page); it only clears cookies from your device.

Data retention

Server logs are retained for up to 12 months for security and abuse-prevention purposes. Contact-form correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably needed to handle your query and, where the query is closed, for up to 24 months afterwards. Anonymous aggregate analytics are retained indefinitely because they contain no personal identifiers.

You may request deletion of any personal data we hold about you at any time by writing to us. We will honour deletion requests promptly, subject to any legal obligation to retain specific records.

Your rights under UK data-protection law

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted (subject to some exceptions), to restrict our processing of it, to receive a portable copy, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe we have handled your data incorrectly.

To exercise these rights, write to us via the contact page. We will respond within one calendar month, or 30 days if that is shorter. There is no fee for exercising these rights except where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Contact for privacy questions

Privacy questions can be sent through the standard contact page. Please mention “privacy” in the subject so we can route the query to the right person. We aim to acknowledge within three working days and respond in full within one month of your original request.
