Cookies Notice

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember information between page loads. They are used across the web for a variety of purposes, from remembering your language preference to tracking you across sites for advertising. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) 2003, as updated, govern how UK websites must handle cookies, with additional overlay from the UK General Data Protection Regulation.

What HS Info sets

HS Info is a static informational website and sets a minimal set of cookies. The essential cookies are limited to a session identifier used by the web server, which expires when you close your browser tab. No preference cookies, analytics cookies, marketing cookies, or third-party cookies are set by default.

If we introduce analytics in the future, the tool selected will be configured to strip personal identifiers before storage, and if the tool cannot be so configured we will move to a consent-first model before enabling it. We will update this page accordingly.

What we do not set

We do not set advertising or remarketing cookies. We do not embed social-media share widgets that set cookies from Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok or similar platforms. We do not embed YouTube or Vimeo players (which set cookies when loaded). We do not use A/B testing tools that read cookies. We do not use cross-site tracking pixels.

Your choices

You can review and delete cookies from your browser settings at any time. Guidance is available from the browser vendors (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) in their support documentation. Clearing cookies will not affect any personal data we hold about you separately.

Because we set no non-essential cookies by default, we do not present a cookie banner. Should this change we will add a banner with a clear opt-in for any non-essential cookie.

Changes to this notice

We update this Cookies notice when the tooling on the site changes, and record the update date in the byline above. If the change is material we will refresh the notice date visibly at the top of the page. You are welcome to bookmark this page and check periodically.
